Friday, January 18th, 2019 Beef Feeder SaleResults from the Special Winter Roundup New Crop Calf/ Yearling Sale Friday January 18th.. Here this past Friday we had a large run of high quality selling 3,403 head on a market that was steady to a little lower than 2 weeks ago on most weights of cattle and that was mostly due in part to Mother Nature who decided to deliver her wintery wrath once again across cattle feeding country from Western Kansas up through Nebraska, Iowa right to home base..
But as always we got through it all thanks to our extensive buyer base and a great crew that know how to and do take care of cattle as if their own, giving these cattle the best of care in their extended stay in our cattle hotel while they awaited the weather to pass and clean out so they could get them home to cattle ready pens..
In the event of a widespread blizzard such as this one it's ever so important to ensure the Buyer/Seller alike with confidence that their cattle will be cared for in the most least stress environment possible.. With our wonderful crew who keep these cattle properly fed, watered and bedded for days on many, we are finally loading out the final loads of the sale in the best condition looking just as fresh as the day they arrived.
A huge thank you to the crew at Bloomington Livestock, Brian, Terry, Billy, Brad, Zach and the list goes on for pounding away day and night to maintain the confidence these Buyers have in our ability to hold cattle in these conditions we just went through.
I'm very proud of our entire crew and their persistent focus on the proper care and handling of all these cattle while on our watch until they can be loaded to their final feeding destination ..
Considering all of the elements we rolled through this with flying colors.
Better luck next time Mother Nature, you can stay away for awhile now, but were always ready for ya!
Thanks again to all Buyers/Sellers alike who ventured out in such not so favorable conditions to trade a pile of good cattle..
