Friday, September 6th Combo Feeder Market ReportResults from our Customer Appreciation Holstein/Beef Combination Feeder Cattle Sale Friday, September 6th. Here this past Friday we had a good run selling approximately 1840 head (740 head of Hol, 1100 Head of Beef) on a market that was slightly weaker to weaker on all classes of livestock. High quality Holsteins were still in demand, while Holsteins of thinner flesh and quality were a tougher sell. This time of year it is especially important to keep the grain to the Holsteins to keep a desirable flesh on them till you market them. We had a good run of Beef Cattle with a fairly large run of yearlings off grass. Still very strong demand on the quality cattle carrying light flesh and were properly handled. The market was not very comparable to the yearlings early due to the back up of fats and the deterioration of the CME Board. A Big THANK YOU goes out to the Grant CO Cattlemen who gave up their busy day to grill steaks for our customers. Also a Big Thanks to the buyers, sellers and our hard working employees that work so hard each and every sale! Keep checking our website for www.bloomingtonlivestock.com for updated information. Thank you again to all our sellers and buyers who make our sales successful. Our Next Feeder Sale is Friday September 13th selling Holstein & Dairy Cross Cattle Following Feeder Sale will be Friday September 20th selling Beef New Crop Calves/Yearling Here's the report: Fancy Beef Steers 350 - 425# No Test 450 - 525# 160 - 180 Light Test 550 - 625# 135 - 155 Light Test 650 - 725# 130 - 150 750 - 825# 135 - 144 850 - 950# 125 - 138 975 - 1075# No Test Improperly Handled/ Over Fleshy/ Lower Quality Steers Less Fancy Beef Heifers 350 - 425# No Test 450 - 525# 135 - 155 Light Test 550 - 625# 135 - 148 Light Test 650 - 725# 125 - 139 750 - 850# 120 - 136 875-950# No Test Improperly Handled / Over Fleshy/ Lower Quality Heifers Less Fancy Holstein Steers 250 - 350# 90 - 114 375 - 450# 95 - 108 475 - 550# 90 - 102 575 - 650# 85 - 99 675 - 750# 85 - 97 775 - 850# 85 - 95 875 - 950# 80 - 99 Light Test Improperly Handled/ Excessively Thin/ Lower Quality Holstein Steers Less |
