FR: Friday, March 3rd, 2017Results from the SPECIAL BACK TO GRASS ALL BEEF NEW CROP CALF/YEARLING ROUNDUP FEEDER CATTLE SALE Headcount: 2,288 Results from the SPECIAL BACK TO GRASS ALL BEEF NEW CROP CALF/YEARLING ROUNDUP FEEDER CATTLE SALE Headcount: 2,288 Here this past Friday, we had another really nice run of feeder cattle, with a showing of some of the best cattle the Midwest has to offer. Selling 2,288 cattle, the market was stronger in most areas. The demand was good again today, especially for the properly handled and vaccinated cattle. Excessively fleshy/improperly handled cattle were less, based upon the kind and quality of cattle. Upon closing a week where we saw fat cattle make its way up to $130.75, and a spurt of unseasonal warm weather, you can definitely see we are soon approaching grass season. The light cattle really caught steam here the past few weeks, as buyers look to start gathering numbers to fill the summer pastures. As we continue into spring, we expect a rather steady market. Continue to do the good work you folks do. Each and every sale you producers showcase some of the best cattle in the entire country. To all the sellers & buyers alike, all of your friends at Bloomington Livestock Exchange sure thank you for your hard work, dedication, and business.
